The commercial street, Colaba Causeway (officially known as Shahid Bhagat Singh Rd) is situated in the Southern part of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, right behind the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. It is a major causeway or land link between Colaba and the Old Woman’s Island and the area includes The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Gateway of India, National Gallery of Modern Arts (NGMA), Regal Cinema, Khushrow Baug and Sassoon Dock. It is also a vibrant shopping boulevard with stalls and small shops display the latest fashionable charms and accessories, trendy textiles and fabrics, antique items, bangles, home accessories made of wood, glass or porcelain pellet.

The famous Leopold Cafe and Bar, situated on the Causeway was an early site of gunfire and grenade explosions during the 26 November 2008 Mumbai attacks by terrorists. For a good beriyani, do check out the Baghdadi Beriyani Restaurant, sandwiched between the Taj Mahal Palace and the Causeway.
