Details:

Mahabaleshwar is a city in Satara district in the state of Maharashtra and a hill station located in the Western Ghats range, India. During the British Raj, it served as the summer capital of Bombay province. Mahabaleshwar today is a popular holiday resort and honeymoon spot.

Mahabaleshwar is also known for the honey as well as the strawberries and mulberries produced here since the climate of Mahabaleshwar is ideal for such plants. One can visit strawberry farms such as the Mapro Garden to enjoy the real flavour of the fruit.

The Venna Lake is one of the major tourist attractions of Mahabaleshwar where tourists can enjoy a boat ride over the lake or a horse ride next to the lake.

The views from the points around Mahabaleshwar are clear and splendid. When the Dhom dam, which was built on Krishna River, is full it offers a fantastic scene if viewed from Kate’s Point. Close by to the Kate’s Point is the Echo Point and Niddal Hole Point. The side of the Elephant Head’s Point can be seen clearly from the Niddal Hole Point. A few minutes taxi-ride from Kate’s Point is another point called as The Lodwick Point, formerly known as Sydney Point. It was renamed ‘Lodwick Point’ in honour of General Lodwick who was the first British officer to climb the hill. Here, one can enjoy the fabulous view of the valley below. Also, this is the best location to enjoy sunset.
