Details:

Nanta, also known as “Cookin'” in English, is a popular non-verbal South Korean musical performance that has a simple back story of three cooks attempting to finish preparing a wedding banquet within a strict time limit and at the same time they also have to give the manager’s nephew some cooking lessons. The show involves acrobatics, magic tricks, comedy, pantomime and audience participation as well as incorporating instruments, such as cutting boards, brooms, thrash cans, water canisters and kitchen knives to create a traditional Korean samul nori music. Samul Nori is a genre of traditional percussion music originating in Korea.

It premiered in October 1997 in Hoam Art Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul and since then, the show has drawn the largest audiences in the history of performing arts in Korea.

Now, Nanta show can be seen at the Unesco Building 3F, 50-14, Myeong Dong 2 Ga, Jung Gu, Seoul. Performance times: Everyday (Mon to Fri, Holidays) @ 14:00, 17:00, 20:00. For ticket reservations, click at this link http://nanta.i-pmc.co.kr/nanta/en/intro.aspx
